BBNaija: Why I didn’t use Ebuka as my stage name – Michael reveals
Newly introduced housemate of the ‘Shine Ya Eye’ edition for the BBNaija show, Michael has revealed that he changed his name from Ebuka to Michael at the very last minute.
In a conversation with Kayvee, he disclosed that he was advised to change his name to avoid a clash of personalities owing to the fact that the popular show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu also bears the same name.
Michael noted that Ebuka Obi-Uchendu has a brand from the name, so it wasn’t palatable going by it also.
Kayvee on his part said he wanted to go by the name ‘Koko’, but realised that it is widely used in the entertainment industry.
Michael said;
“I was advised not to use Ebuka as my stage name. I felt using it would have been a conflict of interest.
“When you hear BBNaija, you remember Ebuka. He has made a brand from the name, so I had to change my name to Michael at the last minute.”
