Adele breaks down in tears as she dedicates third Brit Award win to son and ex-husband
Adele was overcome with emotion as she dedicated her third Brit Award of the night to her son Angelo and ex-husband Simon Konecki.
As she picked up the Album of the Year gong for her record 30, Adele became tearful and said the album belonged to them all.
She said: “I’d like to dedicate this album to my son and Simon, his dad. This album was all of our journeys, not just mine. My son has been so kind and gracious and patient with me over the last couple of years.”
Adele’s split from charity boss Simon was the main inspiration for her number one album. She previously said of the record: “I’ve painstakingly rebuilt my house and my heart since then and this album narrates it. Home is where the heart is x”.
The pop star also bagged Artist of the Year and Song of the Year, taking her to within one Brit of Robbie Williams’ all-time record.
